It's Not Their Job
04.23.06 (11:00 pm)   [edit]
I am so angry right now. My boyfriend is a CSO (security) for his University. Personally, I think that it is the students' first and foremost reponsibility to dedicate themselves to their studies. Any job that makes them stay up for the whole, or even half the night, should be discouraged. I understand that people have to work for a living and not everyone has the luxury of having their school paid for by their parents, but this is an on campus job. They should know better. They should be paying cops to do the late night gigs. It doesn't matter to me that most of these students don't complain or don't have classes early the next day. Staying up late takes its toll on you whether you realize it or not. People are always talking about how you need to get a good night's rest in order to function at your best. This is especially important while you are trying to learn. They don't even have regular schedules. Sometimes they work in the morning, sometimes the afternoon, but most of the time it's until 2 or 3 in the morning. They don't have time to get used to working late because the next time they work it's at 10 AM. They don't get paid nearly enough for this job. Unless you want to be a cop when you get out of school, I would not recommend this job. My boyfriend would never complain. Good thing I'm whiny enough for the both of us. My point is, it's not their job...

This Computer Is So Slow!
04.12.06 (4:52 pm)   [edit]
So I'm at school in the Oasis in the library. I thought I'd add a post before going home and locking myself in my bedroom for the better part of this week. I have a huge test on Monday that I have to get a good grade on. The first test skrewed everyone over. I want a B on at least 2 of my 3 essays. Plus I need to do well on the multiple choice. I think I'm going to go check out my school's ongoing book sale to see if they have anything I would find interesting to read once school gets out. I don't really see myself doing any pleasure reading until the semester ends. Especially since I decided I have to read all of my assigned reading before going to class from now on. I should have been doing it the whole semester but you know how it is. That should ensure my passage of the last test in 302B and a pass in the course. If I don't pass I can really graduate on time. That would suck majorly! Ok well I'm gonna go now so I can check out the sale and be on my way home. Finally after a hundred million hours it seems like. I have to plan my schedule for Fall too. It's just all too exciting; I can barely contain myself! (Microsoft Word just said "majorly" isn't a word. Am I that valley? Please help.)
